When do you use flux-cored over MIG or stick?

Flux-core over MIG when the work is outdoors in wind. The self-shielding wire keeps the weld protected when MIG’s shielding gas would blow away.

Flux-core over stick when the work is high-volume or long beads. Wire feed is faster than swapping rods every few inches, and flux-core matches stick on penetration in the same thickness range.
