Can you weld cast iron?

Yes. Cast iron welding is one of our specialties. It’s harder than welding steel because cast iron cracks easily under heat, but with the right rod, slow preheat, slow cooldown, and careful technique, cast iron welds hold up.

Common cast iron jobs include equipment housings, transmission cases, antique tractor parts, restoration pieces, and broken cast iron brackets and supports.
