Can you stick weld outdoors or in bad weather?

Yes. Stick is the welding process for outdoor and weather conditions. The shielding comes from the electrode coating, not from a gas bottle, so wind doesn’t blow the shield away the way it does with MIG and TIG.

We’ve stick welded in rain, wind, cold, and dust. The setup is simple, the rig handles the conditions, and the welds hold. For wind without rain, flux-core also works well.
