Is MIG welding strong enough for structural repair?

Yes, when the welder is qualified and the procedure is right. MIG produces strong, clean welds that pass structural inspection regularly. We’re WABO certified for structural welding, and MIG is one of the processes we use.

The welding process matters less than the welder’s skill and the procedure. MIG, stick, and flux-core all weld structural steel correctly when run by someone who knows what they’re doing.
